"Linking Communities with STEM," brought Helen, Michelle and Gay together to provide 

students across Pittsburgh, Pa the opportunity to work as Humanitarian Engineers.  

The students learned first hand why empathy is the first step of the engineering design process.

 

By participating in a "poverty simulation,"

students were able to work from a place of genuine regard.  

 

They were empowered to:

• Create authentic new products

• Take risks & explore 

• Celebrate mistakes 

• Become active participants in their communities

 

Based on their shared experiences, they were determined to make a positive impact.
